Spiced Cider at Bedford & Strand

If you thought Bedford & Strand was just about great food and top-notch wine, think again. It’s new cocktail menu is definitely worth a considered look. We’ve worked our way through the classics including a very nifty Aviation and blindingly good Negroni but the new winter menu has really got our tastebuds all a-flutter. Pop in to the bar to taste them made by the professionals and when you’ve finished, here are the recipes for you to shake them up at home…

King’s Tea

50 ml King’s Ginger
15ml Merlet Creme de Mure
300ml hot water

Method:
Fill a pot with the hot water, add ingredients and serve in a teacup. Garnish with a fresh blackberry.

Winter Rose Martini

50ml Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon
15ml Acacia honey
20ml apple juice
1 fresh fig

Method:
Muddle, shake and fine strain the ingredients and pour into chilled martini glass.

Spiced Cider

35ml Elements Eight Spiced Rum
1 large orange twist
1 slice of apples
4 cloves
Top with Burrow Hill cider

Method:
Build over a tankard and heat in a steamer. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Vinopolitan

75ml white wine
15ml St Germain Elderflower liqueur
1 string of redcurrants
8 white grapes
1 squeeze of lime

Method:
Shake all ingredients and fine strain into a martini glass. Garnish with the redcurrants.
