If you’ve got your little sachet of mulling spices ready, thinking adding that to a bottle of cheapo plonk will cut it with your guests – we hate to break it to you but you’ll need to do better than that. We suggest treating them to this luxury aromatic version instead.
50ml Licor 43
15ml lemon juice
1 sugar cube
4 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters
4 dashes Angostura orange bitters
1 cinnamon stick
Soak sugar cube in aromatic and orange bitters, then place soaked sugar cube, lemon juice and wine into a pan and heat gently on the hob until hot. Add Licor 43 and pour into a balloon glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
