There’s just 24 hours to go until #24hrBarBuild and we can’t bloomin’ wait. Imagine it – four off-the-scale bars created by 24 world class bartenders/owners all in one amazing space and you dear reader will be invited to vote for who you think is the best. In short, it’s a competition of the most thrilling kind and a don’t miss event for discerning drinkers.

Here’s how it works: four team captains from London (Richard Woods, Duck & Waffle), Paris (Carina Soto Velasquez, Candelaria), New York (Leo Robitschek, NoMad), and Singapore (Joel Fraser, The Cufflink Club) were invited to cherry pick five of the finest bartenders/owners/managers in their respective cocktail capitals and dream up the ultimate bar. Oh, and wait. Said bar, complete with a crowd pleasing concept, ace drinks and merchandise, has to be built in 24 hours in a blank space on the Saturday of London Cocktail Week. Cue mucho excitement, first-class drinking experiences and tippity-top cocktails all round.

“This isn’t bar vs. bar but city vs. city,” says Marc Plumridge, Head of Trade Advocacy at Bacardi Brown-Forman, the bright mind behind this unique, darned exciting, not-to-be-missed event. “With such an impressive line-up, we can’t wait to see how each team brings their concept to life and showcase the breadth of modern cocktail culture through four world-renowned spirits.”

Ah yes, the spirits… As well as the overall vibe of the bar, each team will be vying for your vote with four specially created cocktails made with either Grey Goose vodka, Bombay Sapphire gin, Bacardi rum and Patron tequila. Non-alcoholic options will be available too. Sure everyone has their favourite tipple but don’t let that cloud your judgement, if ever there was a time to try something new, this is it. How many opportunities do you get to taste cocktails created by not one, not two but four hand-picked teams from the leading cocktail capitals in the world? Exactly…

Which is why the ticket price at £35 is an absolute bargain. For that, you get tokens for five cocktails (that’s £7 a-pop for cocktails of this calibre – are you kidding!) and entry to what we think is going to be the party of the year.
