Believed to have been created for Lady Randolph Churchill, the mother of Sir Winston, we recommend this wonderful cocktail if whisky is your spirit of choice.
The Old Fashioned has been around since the late 1800s and is one of those cocktails that seem to invite all sorts of controversy. Bourbon or blended whisky, muddled or not muddled, soda or water or neither.
A particular favourite of ours for lazy (and hazy) summer chillin’. There are a number of fruity variations of the Mojito and a particularly interesting one with Budvar, but the classic still sits at the top of our tree.
Neither Mr G nor Ms S is really a fan of Tequila as it comes (all that shot nonsense, please!). But lurking in this wonderful drink we find it more than acceptable. Along with all the inevitable variations there is the more contemporary Frozen Margarita but that’s a whole different story.
There are more variations of the Martini cocktail than we care to mention. Not too dry this is a good version to kick off with.
