As far as festive drinks go, we think the clever folk at the Hilton group have come up with a corker with their 12 Drinks of Christmas menu. We’ll ignore the fact that there is a very, very tenuous link between the drinks and the section of the classic rhyme they’re each assigned to: Four Calling Birds for instance is summed up as “this drink is calling you…”! No matter, it’s the thought that counts and there’s no denying that Nelson Bernades and Daniel Carvalho from the Waldorf Hilton, London have put plenty of thought into this winter warming menu.
It’s been taters of late here in Blighty (for those of you not of cockney origin, ‘taters’ is rhyming slang for ‘potatoes in the mould = cold. Crazy we know but we didn’t write the book, although we do love the word.) Anyway, we digress; what we meant to say is, due to the adverse weather conditions we’ve been making it our business to keep warm with energy-saving cocktails. Heating us up for the inside out, we’ve found the fuel that comes from cocktail shaking, then imbibing, is the only way to survive a British winter. Try this Negroni, courtesy of Beefeater Gin and try telling us it doesn’t beat a hot water bottle…
It’s been such a long time since we last posted a video recipe, we’ve almost forgotten all about them.
