Cool, glad to hear it! Funny, the FAIR. goji is now following me around! I thought I'd hop online and reply to you. Just last night, we were at the bar at Michael Mina in San Francisco and folks next to us ordered a Hudson whiskey cocktail on their menu, the original with Chery Heering, and one with the FAIR. goji instead of the Heering -- I thought, "Hmm, that's an interesting substitution..."

They thought so too, because the big group of like 6 people were doing some kind of taste-test and all of them, plus the bartender who created the drink, all agreed that goji was the winner by a long shot. Looks like I'll need to try re-working some Blood and Sands at home now...

Ms S, I was totally with you on the goji... until I started using it as an amaro. Wow. I found this recipe online and, also being a gin hound like yourself, was very happy with the results and it gave me ideas on exquisite cocktails I can't seem to pull off with any other ingredient. It's just the kind of thing which has caused me to tag the product on google to see what other people come up with. Very fun. Definitely give it a try.
1.5 ounce FAIR. quinoa
0.75 ounce FAIR. goji
0.75 ounce Cynar
Stir, strain, old fashioned glass, block ice, orange peel.

Yes, there definitely will be a part 2 in spring/summer, so don't be shy with your pomegranate juice recipes! In the meantime, Ms S is planning a detox in January, so please feel free to send through seasonal suggestions

I've just bought this to wear as my wedding scent - I'm wearing a 1930's style slinky dress and we're having a grouse-shooting inspired autnumnal picnic - think Gosford Park and Bright young things, with a bit of Jeeves and wooster thrown in. I was looking for a scent that would fit in with all of this and was passing Penhaligons today and there it was! art deco, decadent bottle - masculine in a fresh, peppery way - noticable and original. I like it very much - although you do have to wear a LOT of it, to get a real kick of the scent. I love the name and the juniper - you can really drink it in. The staff at penhaligons told me that it is created b ythe same perfumier that created Angel for thierry Mugler - another edible/taste orientated scent. It's lush without being heady and flowery. I for one, will be wearing it and hoping that evokes the smell of one of Bertie Wooster's damn fine fillies shimmying though a Charleston on the dance floor.

I can say, without a doubt, that the aperitif style drinks are all absolute winners... the Sinking Spritz (Rich's version of a Venetian spritz with a twist) is one of the most enlivening I've tried, and the Vieux Carre is a wonderful alternative to a Manhattan that, before this year, I'd never even heard of. We've also got a special Breakfast-only cocktail list, including a DIY Bloody Mary buffet, juice blends, and some eye-openers like a Salty Dog and an old-school Black Velvet. Those city boys need something stiffer than a Starbucks to perk themselves up, after all ;)

Glad you tried and enjoyed the drinks :). We (the staff at Guildhall) have started working our way through the menu today ourselves, and I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised at the new additions to the list. I think the Nuclear Banana Daiquiri will probably be the new Zombie, and the Treacle will definitely be my primary post-dinner suggestion. Do make sure you come in to whizz through the wine list too, we've got some amazingly well-priced and pretty unique drops by the glass (and some pretty mean enomatic machines to make sure our even more prestigious stuff we'll offer stays super fresh).

Glad you had a good time there Zack - Luke and Ben have put so much in to the venture and really want it to be a place for the community, so we hope they continue to well.
Like you, if this was our local we'd be very happy indeed.

I went to the shop a little over a month ago. Overall I had a great experience there and would definitely come back again. I don't live in Kensal Rise but I do work in a bar just around the corner and I think they have got it right. Some interesting original cocktails which all reasonably priced and well suited to their custom. If I lived local I don't think I'd bother going central if I had this place on my doorstep.

Overpriced, bad service, misplaced....exactly who thought this concept was appropriate for Kensal Rise needs to spend less time in the toilets and more time in a grounded reality. Terrible place and pretentious!

The tasting cost £45, with the four glasses yours to box up and take away. The advertised Vinum glasses themselves retail at £80. Except for some unexplained reason we got given the Vinum XL range, which retail at £100 for four. So spend £45 and get over double that in premium stemware. This is the best arithmetic I've ever enjoyed.

A quick inventory of one shelf at home announces that we now own £380 worth of Riedel glasses. Must readjust the home insurance cover and hide that £4.49 Shiraz!

[...] The Cocktail Lovers | Beaufort Bar at The Savoy, W1 Really, how could you not fall for a bar decked out in sassy jet black and a whopping £38000 of gold leaf detailing? TCL RATING: There's history here too; the bar stands proud on the same cabaret stage where luminaries like George Gershwin Everything about it is refreshing and different, from the chunky but elegant modern rocks glass its served in to the perfectly hewn of ice sitting like a whopping big diamond chilling the drink down in the centre.
