Blimey, this time next week, it will all be over – presents unwrapped, food mountain eaten and Christmas specials binged watched on TV.  It goes without saying that a drink or two will be consumed… 

Whether you need a little tipple to keep you sane in the run-up to Christmas, or you want to push the boat out for visiting family and friends, we’ve rounded up some festive cocktail recipes that are guaranteed to hit the spot. Even better, they’re all fairly easy to make.

The Belle of St-Clement

A simple but delicious winter warming low ABV cocktail. And a sophisticated remedy if you’re battling a cold.

10 ml St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
5 ml Mandarin Acacia honey syrup
80 ml Hot Silver Tip Jasmine tea
2 drops of Rosemary droplets/tincture

Method:
Simply stir the ingredients together. Garnish with dried orange peel and a sprig of rosemary.

Spiced Chocolate Sour 

An extra special cocktail which you can make at home or sample at the restaurant housed within London’s greenest hotel Qbic.

30ml Cognac
20ml Mozart Dark Chocolate
20ml lemon
15ml clove syrup
20ml egg white
10ml Port floated

Method:
Dry shake all the ingredients, except the port, before shaking with ice. Serve in a large Rocks glass, with a clove pierced in a dehydrated orange.

Right Hand

A straightforward, equal parts cocktail. One you can pre-mix and chill ready to serve as an aperitif or digestif before or after a meal. 

25 ml Santa Teresa 1796 Rum
25 ml Martini Riserva Speciale Bitter
25 ml Martini Riserva Speciale Rubino

Method:
Stir all ingredients over ice and serve as cold as possible.

Hot Copper Bell

A refreshing and warming cocktail to keep you warm over these cold nights. Made using City of London Distillery’s new Six Bells Lemon gin. 

30 ml Six Bells Lemon gin
20 ml honey
20 ml fresh lemon juice
50 ml Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer

Method:
Combine all the ingredients together and gently warm over a low heat. Garnish with star anise, orange zest, cloves and cinnamon.

St-Germain Winter Spritz

An easy drink to make, and an extra-special alternative to a Buck’s Fizz on Christmas morning. 

40 ml St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
60 ml prosecco
60 ml soda

Method:
Pour St-Germain over ice into a fancy Collins glass. Lengthen with prosecco and soda and stir gently. Garnish with lemon zest, dried orange wheel and star anise.
